Centre Manager Derek Witt
Derek has extensive primary care experience having previously worked for a national out-of-hours provider for 10 years. Whilst working in out-of-hours, Derek held a number of roles, developing from the position of Branch Manager for Camberley and Brighton to that of Regional Manager supervising the operations of 7 branches.
Derek joined Care UK in October 2006 and was instrumental in the set-up and the subsequent successful operation of the Victoria NHS Walk-in Centre. Just recently Derek has been promoted to the position of Regional Manager of the South for Care UK’s primary care services. He will, however, continue to manage the Victoria NHS Walk-in Centre alongside his new responsibilities.
General Practitioners
Dr Nick Routledge
Having gained his medical degree in 1993, Nick held a number of clinical positions in several hospitals before completing his General Practitioner training in 1998. Nick's most recent role, prior to joining the staff at the Walk-in Centre, was that of Medical Director of a 24-hour Walk-in Centre in Auckland, New Zealand, where he worked for six years.
Dr Malgorzata Sidorowicz
Malgorzata completed her medical degree in 1993 in Poland. Following this, she held a couple of posts within hospitals, gaining her Paediatric post grad qualification in 2001. She completed her general practice training in 2004 and went on to practice family medicine until 2007. After coming to Britain in January 2008, Malgorzata joined Care UK on 21st January 2008.
Lead Nurse Carol Clare
Carol has an extensive background in nursing having been in the profession for nearly thirty years. A large part of her career has been spent working in accident and emergency departments, initially as a nurse practitioner at Guy's hospital in the accident and emergency and, subsequently, in the minor injuries unit that replaced it. Following this position Carol took the role of senior nurse and project lead for the set up of a nurse practioner service run by Bexley Car Trust situated in the accident and emergency department at Queen Mary's. Most recently Carol held the post of Modern Matron for accident and emergency at Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup Kent.
